Finished the commission for my wonderful friend *nabey of Jake Gyllenhawt! :D

I'm really happy with how it turned out, and of course hope that Deb is too!

I learned a lot from doing the digital painting of Jared Leto, and incorporated some of the same skin texturing I used in that picture in this drawing and I really like the result. My husband walked by when I had the drawing open on the computer and said, "Is that the ref picture?" I said, "No, it's my drawing." He said, with big eyes, "Wow..."

Yay! :boogie:

Mostly I learned not to be afraid to put the skin texture in the drawing. Normally I wouldn't have put in the indications of pores, the fine lines, the freckles/moles, or the little scars - like the little pock mark he has in the middle of his forehead. But I've learned that as long as you make them subtle and carefully blend them in, they add a lot of life to the picture.
