Beware...Sweeney Todd is coming...
Muah ha ha...
I can't believe I finally finished this baby!
This is by FAR the most time I've ever spent on a drawing... It took so long, I lost track, but I'm guessing about 20 hrs total.
Graphite on Bristol Board (vellum finish) 11x14 inches
8B - 2H graphite pencils
Cotton balls, q-tips & tortillions for blending.
I used Photoshop to add the red.

About Sweeney Todd:
The character of Sweeney Todd has been around since at least the 1800's and has appeared in many fictional works, plays, movies, etc.
Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler created the musical "Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" in the 70s. It has run several times and won several Tony Awards.
Tim Burton directed the big screen version which opens in the US later this month and stars Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd and Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett who both sing in their roles.

I'm still unclear who owns the copyright on the Sweeney Todd character as he has been around a long long time, but the movie and therefore Johnny Depp's image above I assume is copyright Warner Brothers and/or Dreamworks.
